291 - Elephants on Acid
That was one of the best days I’ve ever had.
Have to say, I think I was over anticipating it but then with the support when Nick and Keegan and Ben got to play it’s like, near enough all my friends who make music did so in one night. And I knew it wouldn’t let me down from there on in.
Almost everyone was out (such a shame Sean and Sarah couldn’t make it though) and we had so much fun.
And Elephants totally exceeded all my expectations. There’s a reason I decided to stay in Leeds after first seeing them play and it was nice to be reminded last night that I was right: They are that good.
When they finished I had to go outside and even though knackered from the dancing I had to leap up and down for a minute and shout at the sky. I had far too much happy and would have exploded if I’d kept it inside (luckily no one saw 🙂
Then it all got a bit complicated with who was going where but so glad I didn’t go off to the pub with everyone and what a lovely time at Charlie’s house just chatting away ’til the wee small hours. Couple a beers, got a bit high and before leaving hers at 6, rolling another number for the road and what a lovely walk home.
One of the finest days ever.
271 - Happy days
Got paid finally. So left work bought beer, got high and made some rock n roll at band practice. Life is good.
132 - Day 5
Had to be a bit cheeky to do 5 gigs in 5 days and so asked Tank if I could perform tonight during their sold out e.p. launch at the Empire.
She let me go on in between bands 3 & 4.
All the bands were great today: 5 bands and 4 with a girl (nice ratio). plus the Vixens Burlesque troop.
Got to hang out in dressing room and stuff then went on and did my set and got another good reaction. Had a guy and his brother buy me drinks after they liked it that much.
Tank did point out after I’d finished that she probably should have warned me it was a 14+ gig – oops. I kinda swore a lot again…oh well.
Was great playing on a full, proper stage in front a that many people too.

128 - Day 4
Headed to the Chemic for tonight’s gig and found it surprisingly easily :-0
Was first in so put my name down to play after the band who went on at 10 so that Kate could get there in time to see me. Which meant getting a taxi home but figured it was worth it for her to finally see what I do.
Bit perturbed at first as it soon filled up with some drunk people talking rather loudly and ignoring the acts. But that calmed down a bit by the band time.
Was on my own for most of the night but then that girl from The Fenton turned up and then Miranda and then Rory (gurdy) so was quite a nice end to the night.
My set went down really well, got lots of chuckles, and lots of applause for Bullies & Thieves and of course X-Factory. Kate made it in time so she’s finally seen me. Said she liked it and asked if I could send her the words to Bullies and Thieves.
Then got a lift home of Rory.

120 - Day 3
What a messed up day. But then, it’s my birthday and I’m in charge so what’s not to expect.
Got lost, went to the wrong pub. Got lost again, started to get annoyed with myself and thought, no, stop it. Make a cig and it’ll all be cool because it’s you and things always go weird but end up good.
So I rolled a cig, walked round the corner and there was The Grove 🙂
Was very clique like everyone said and I do think I scared the poo out of the more conservative people a tad with my words (especially X-Factory)….Job well done.
very small room with no amps or mics or anything. Just one on ones own.
But then got lost again through some scary estate, found myself in some prostitute area but made it back to Carpe for beer and Jaeger and ended up in FAB when Kate and Charlie turned up.
wicked shit.

117 - Day 2
At the Fenton. Good jam as always. Great to see Q out and jamming again. Always awesome to watch Andrei play when he’s sober and digging it. And Sean and Nick being great as usual.
My set was a bunch of old school punk poetry from other (but not famous or even remembered) people.
All of them fitted well in a pub in 2012. Us old punks did have a point to make and the relevance is still felt today.
Set List
115 - Birthday week
My birthday present to myself this year is a week of Rock ‘n’ Roll – Let’s see if I really could be Lemmy…
Day 1
First gig of the week at Carpe. Went down well. Noisy crowd but I got their silence and attention by end of the first poem. Probably because of saying clit and balls (the power of words is incredible)
Chatted to a few cool people and saw the guy out of Arizona Bay do his first gig with his new band. Pretty good it was too (wish I could remember who the singer reminds me of though)
Played 9 games of pinball for £1 – kept getting replays all over the shop – and got my name on the score board for 3rd highest score. And had 5 free balls in one game (new record for me)

94 - Chasing Dragons music video -26/01/12
Bit of a shortage of people, only about 20-30 but we all huddled together to make it look busier. And Dino managed to rope in about another 8 girls off the street at one point (not street girls, just girls off the street 🙂
Must have had a bout a dozen runs through of the song in order to get all the camera angles. Luckily it’s a good song so it didn’t matter.
Lovely lady playing the Succubus with great red eye contacts.
Had a really great day, rocking out about a million times while they got all the angles.
I can see how people might get bored at one of these things but I had much fun.
68 - Baby Jupiter 1-12-11
Great night. Possibly the best thing I’ve done.
Felt a bit like I was on tour – in a new place I’ve never been before, few drinks on my own beforehand while pottering around without anyone knowing me. Went on stage and think I surprised people who had no idea what to expect.
Got two offers of future gigs too. One back there on a different night and on at the Well supporting Decayed Messiah.
Also got a shout out from the last band for my stuff plus, he recognised my tatt and applauded me for being a fan of 65days – As soon as they started playing I could hear/see the influence of the boys on what they do.
Really really enjoyed tonight.
